Just about all mysteries have been explained, it seems.

The origin of Evangelion? Check. The creation of Nerv, and its purpose? Check. The events leading to the death of Yui? I’m still uncertain, but wouldn’t be surprised if she ended up a part of Eva Unit 01 at the work of Ritsuko’s mother. And Ritsuko’s mother? Apparently there’s something about Rei. Something powerful, something horrible. She may not even be human. Could she be what you get when you cross human DNA with Angel DNA?

The origin of Angels, and of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the cause of Second Impact, these remain mysteries.

With the background out of the way, the cast should get more time to be expanded upon. There’s certain to be at least one more Angel ,and more of a progression of Eva Unit 01, but things are getting far away from what’s written on the Dead Sea Scrolls.

I thought early on that Kaji would be a bad guy, and Gendo a good guy. The tables certainly have turned by now. If Shinji knew about everything that happened, perhaps he wouldn’t be so quick to want his father’s praise.
