Petite Princess Yucie: Episode 3 Commentary

Exciting First Job

Cocoloo seems slightly less shy now that she gets more lines, such as when she tells Glenda she’s being rude to Dan. That’s a step up from shortly prior when she found she didn’t have much of a presence when it came to Yucie versus Glenda.

Yucie is very take-charge in leaving to talk with Mimi. Will this quick-to-actionness of hers get her in trouble one day?

Glenda continues her “elegant beauty and fantastic magical power” line. After she finishes off the cake, she’s obviously feeling a minor regret as she tries to pass things off as, “This is what you get.” She’s probably be a pretty nice person if she wasn’t raised as a demon. Too bad for her, no matter how she tries to sabotage things further, she only seems to help out in the end (compliments of Mr. Gaga, of course).

So, does Gaga truly misunderstand Glenda’s wishes, or does he do good in her name on purpose?

Cube continues his duties as a steward, taking food and a change of clothes to Yucie, as well as the gnomes (at Gunbard’s request). The coin to pay for the gnomes was probably also Gunbard’s. (Isn’t Yucie’s English voice just too cute when she says, “Coin?” when Cube holds it up as the solution to their dilemma?)

Speaking of cute, the characters used their pendants to transform into baker outfits. Glenda, again, goes for a slightly different look, lacking the tall hat. She probably thinks it would make her look like some kid.

With a shimmer, Yucie and Cocoloo’s pendants glow to show the growth of their hearts. This puts Yucie one step ahead of Glenda. Glenda better hurry and make nice or she’ll fall way behind.
