Re-watching season one, I clearly remembered most of the events. I don’t recall if I had seen the season one one time or two times before, but it had been well over a year since I last saw it. For season two, it had definitely been almost three years. Couple that with the lack of English subtitles the first time I saw it, and it’s no wonder that re-watching season two is almost completely new content for me.

September 28th, 2007, I posted my commentary for Janggeum’s Dream, episode one. Some time after I finished the series, I watched the second season via MBC’s web site. It lacked English subtitles, so that made it much more difficult to follow. Still, I kept up my commentaries, with May 26, 2008 seeing my commentary on episode 27.
Back in 2010, the DVDs for season two were released. Seeing that they had English subtitles, I bought them up right away, although I’ve only recently re-watched the first season as a precursor to watching the second.

While going through files on my computer, I happened upon my “Ground Defense Force! Mao-chan” commentary I wrote up in February of 2008, yet I never posted. I don’t plan to put it online, but I did see a couple of screenshot collages I can’t pass on uploading.

It’s good to see that palina in front of Aria Company. It brings memories of Akari’s efforts to give Aria Company its own palina. The opening theme caught me off guard, with “Undine” playing. It sounded familiar yet different. It’s nice to have a connection from one episode to another, with the continued bit about the gondola, and the photographs from the prior episode.

With gondolas in mind this episode, I’m reminded that I read somewhere how the “oar” of a gondola is specific in design for the person who’ll be using it. This makes it unrealistic to have different people using it, as seen in scenes where the young Undines take turns in practice. And yet, if true, it doesn’t detract from enjoying the show one bit.
