Happy Birthday to Me

This is a self-indulging post. It may freely be ignored.

The below comic is not intended to make sense. I wanted to start off with a shot from Miss Yukari’s birthday song to herself (Azumanga Daioh), but also wanted to include a reference to Strawberry Marshmallow, and it just went on from there.

What perfect timing, a package managed to arrive exactly on my birthday. I couldn’t have planned it better if I’d tried. This links with a prior post, Figures I’m Looking to Buy: Strawberry Marshmallow.

I’ve been watching eBay for anyone selling these figures, and the whole five-cast set from the 1.5ver. found its way on there, new and in box. Add to that two secret figures, which turned out to be the school swimsuit figures for Matsuri and Ana, and that’s all the better. After all, those are the two cute ones of the cast. They have Nobue’s vote of cuteness. Even Mr. Kimura seems to agree. (Sure, Chika has her great sarcasm and cynicism, but those are anti-cute, and wearing her hair up won’t add to the cute factor when there’s Onpu-chan [Ojamajo Doremi] out there to compete with.)
