Don’t be.
At Least, Be Human
Asuka’s time in the spotlight is her undoing.
The way Asuka “is” becomes more understandable. Her choices in life, her rush to become an adult, her excelling through school, her attempts at a relationship with Kaji.
As always, Shinji is glad to see someone wasn’t hurt. He’s grateful to have Asuka alive. Asuka will never accept this. She not once had concern during the times Shinji was lost to the Angels. She has no concern for anyone but herself.
Beyond the trials of Asuka, there’s little to take out of this episode, except that the cause of Second Impact truly is unknown to all except a select few, and that Rei’s existence is still a mystery.
