Writing Priorities

One of the numerous reasons I started The Pink Sylphide was to get myself to write more often. For a good length of time, it served that purpose well. It also helped me analyze more thoroughly what I’m watching. In the last year and a half, however, I’ve taken up photography as another hobby. This cuts into my time for my other hobbies.

Aria the Natural: Episode 17 Commentary

It’s good to see that palina in front of Aria Company. It brings memories of Akari’s efforts to give Aria Company its own palina. The opening theme caught me off guard, with “Undine” playing. It sounded familiar yet different. It’s nice to have a connection from one episode to another, with the continued bit about the gondola, and the photographs from the prior episode.

Aria the Natural: Episode 16 Commentary

With gondolas in mind this episode, I’m reminded that I read somewhere how the “oar” of a gondola is specific in design for the person who’ll be using it. This makes it unrealistic to have different people using it, as seen in scenes where the young Undines take turns in practice. And yet, if true, it doesn’t detract from enjoying the show one bit.

Aria the Natural: Episode 14 Commentary

Sometimes, it’s nice to go out early, when the world is still asleep, and the sun has yet to appear. Traveling, perhaps with no location planned, then watching as the sun comes up from a location you’ve never seen the sunrise, it’s something everyone should enjoy from time to time, such a relaxing event.

For every episode to open peacefully as the theme plays goes to show just what kind of series Aria is. I never really thought about it during the first season, but watching the kids following the cat really underscores it.
